CRUCIFY HIM – JESUS WAS KILLED! WHY IS ANYONE EVER KILLED?
A long time ago human beings came to the conclusion that some of us are “Expendable”. Not everyone! Only those who disagree with what I agree. Maybe those whose god is not like mine or whose looks, language, country, government are not like mine. Maybe it’s those really mean, worthless, evil people who have hurt me in some way.
Look at the adjectives we use for those Jews or Christians, the Muslims or how about the whites, the blacks, the Hispanics. Maybe it’s the retarded, deformed, aged, the kid at the bus stop, or the unborn, or how about those in prison, nursing homes or those we make poor… YOU NAME IT! WHEN YOU HAVE LABEL IT – and slowly those human beings become De-humanized, DE-VALUED into just objects to be used as we pleased. There is just no end to who we can make look Expendable, Is there?
(Is.52:14-15 &53:2-3) Jesus is scourged, stripped, beyond human recognition.
Truly looks Expendable?
THE PREMISE
You might ASK: Is This normal? Well, what is normal? Is it what everyone else is and you are not? Better yet, what I consider normal and who I determine is not.
You see a long time ago we all got caught up in the notion that human beings were “Expendable”.
History continues to prove this factual lie because “History always is. It never was.” and because it tends to rhyme rather than repeat itself, We fall into believing that this all sounds pretty good.
WHY? Because…It is justified that some are expendable and the more expendable I make you, the easier it is to get rid of you. This is called
“Justifiable self- preservation” or looking out for one’s own self interests. This lie becomes more believable the more BLIND we become to feeling no shame or guilt which makes it seem all too EASY! Gandhi once said: “If you believe that there must be an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth, then the world will become blind and toothless.”
RESULT
Just ask the dead whose cries have been silenced by the needless shedding of their blood or the living: whose cries echo throughout history as tears flood the streets. It is said that: Love makes the world go round but let love out of your heart and the world will stop. It did on Calvary as it has done on so many other hills in the world. Crucify Him!!!!!!!!

WHY
John18:14) Chief priest, Caiaphas, made this perfectly clear when he said: It is far better for one man to die than a whole nation.
Did Jesus really need to die? At first, Pilate thought not, but as the riotous crowds grew Pilate knew what Caesar had told him: Keep the peace or lose your job.
So, Jesus became “Expendable” – Crucify Him – get rid of him -what does it matter? Well, it matters a whole lot!
Let’s put all this in perspective: from the cross as Jesus says: (Luke 23:34)
” Father forgive them for they know not what they do”
You have got to be kidding. They all knew what they were doing. They’ve done it before and are doing it again…just like anyone else who gets in the way…who becomes “Expendable“! How does this make any sense? Right?
Oh! But if they only knew Him…
Satan knew and what do you think he says about all of this?
NOTHING!
He just laughs at how easily he can fool mankind with his half-truths because he knows we will always end up on the wrong half.
You do hear him, don’t you? Laughing?
THE DREAM
I was in a very large room and there before me was the biggest pile of bones I had ever seen. It seemed endless. Then a woman walked up to me and handed me a picture of her family and without saying a word pointed to one large pile of skulls and when I tried to give her back her picture, she kept insisting with a tear in her eye that she needed me to find her family. So, pretending the best I could, I looked at her family picture then chose a particular skull and handed it carefully to her. She took the skull with her loving hands and placed it on a blanket she had now spread out and again pointed to me to continue. I repeated this sacred ritual several more times until her blanket was full. She wrapped her precious family and as she walked away nodded in gratitude. Suddenly, as she walked away I saw a river of blood and a river of tears form on either side of the road and I heard a laughter and then a voice saying: “These are all the bones and the tears and the blood that has ever been shed from all the wars throughout time…”I want you now to take these bones along with all the tears (Ps.56:8) and all the blood and separate them according to race, creed, color, religion and national origin.”
I said I couldn’t. Why, I can’t even find my own. I stood there like a fool. Then a voice said: “People have been separating bones and tears and blood every day, How do you do it? How do you make people EXPENDABLE?
As the silent darkness grew around this scene, I heard SATAN’S laughter.
TOOL BOX Then I awoke and thought how blind and toothless I had become from all of my prejudices that have kept me so indifferent amid so much this world continues to do to itself in destroying its future of which I have become at times a silent partner. A thought came to me: That no sin can be undone, only forgiven and that God doesn’t wait for any of us to be perfect before He can love us. Jesus proved it – Peter remembered it – Judas forgot it and believed he was expendable…and this has made all the difference in the world.
So the answer to defeating the lie of believing people are “Expendable” is found back on the cross and in those forgiving words Jesus spoke… if we only knew who Jesus or anyone really was, we too would be more forgiving, loving and understanding. It is what God asks of all His children. How often do we jump to conclusions or pre-judge or go along with the crowd and soon find ourselves looking up into the Cross of Human Expendability?
C.S.Lewis once said: “That the economy of a person is so great it would be like a small town library burning to the ground.” We are more than the sum of our actions. Just ask any Confessor. Only God knows the human heart. So, keep Jesus in your heart, keeps love in your heart, keeps Satan from laughing and will keep you from taking God’s breath away (Gen. 2:7) which resides in every heart way before any of us were ever born!
CONCLUSION
So in the end God our Father, simply, walked into the tomb of what we call absurdity, insanity, hopelessness, worthlessness and selfishness and raised Jesus from the dead and proved once and for all that no one ABSOLUTELY NO ONE in this whole world is ever Expendable. Alleluia? Great News!
Now, If, we could only remember this?
